June 24-June 28

Cornish College Dhrupad workshop/summer camp
Time: 10:00am to 4:30pm, daily for 1 week
Venue: Kerry Hall (Poncho), 710 East Roy St, Seattle, WA (Capitol Hill neighborhood)
Entrance: $295, pre-registration required
Details: Cornish College Dhrupad workshop
Taught by Padmashri Pandit Ramakant Gundecha, with Jeff Lewis.

June 28

Dhrupad, Khayal and Thumri recital by Sri Arijit Mahalanabis

DMIA Music Retreat
Time: 9:30am-4:30pm, daily for 3 days
Venue: Dibble House, 7301 Dibble Avenue NW, Seattle, WA 98136
Entrance: $195 for workshop, $45 for meals

July 5

An Introduction to Dhrupad – lecture and demonstration by Sri Arijit Mahalanabis

Dhrupad concert by Jody Stecher on the Sursringar
Time: 7:30pm
Venue: Independent Order of Odd Fellows (also known as Ballard Alki Lodge IOOF), Upper Hall, 1706 NW Market St. Seattle, WA 98107 (Ballard neighborhood)
Entrance:

Children are welcome, so come with the family!! Also, seating closest to the stage will be floor seating, so bring a blanket or rug to sit on. (Plenty of chair seating also available).

July 7

Day of Dhrupad
Time: 10:00am – 1:30pm, lunch follows
Venue: Independent Order of Odd Fellows (also known as Ballard Alki Lodge IOOF), Upper Hall, 1706 NW Market St. Seattle, WA 98107 (Ballard neighborhood)
Entrance: By donation. Suggested donation – $10-$50 or more, inclusive of lunch. Kindly RSVP, as it assists with lunch preparation.
Details: Featuring vocal performance by Smt. Shantha Benegal, accompanied by Chaz Hastings on the pakhawaj, Sri Raman Iyer and Sri Lakshman Mahadevan in a compare and contrast Carnatic music violin performance, DMIA retreat attendee vocal performance, and “Pran” – Greg Powers on the Trombone and Stuart Dempster on the Didjeridu.
