Uniting North and South India on one stage, Wind Whisperers from India will be a meeting of instruments from the woodwind section and the chordophone section and will feature bansuri (side blown flute) exponent Ronu Majumdar from North India and saraswati veena (multi-stringed chordophone) virtuoso Rajhesh Vaidhya from South India in the ancient art form of jugalbandi, a duet performed by musicians of different instruments and styles. The evening will also feature percussionists Vinod Venkataraman on Mridangam and Ravi Albright on tabla.
Part of the NEA funded Access to Ustads Project, bringing Master Musicians of India to the greater Seattle area. An ACIT Seattle event sponsored by Drupad Music Institute of America.
